Visual guide
Use the cards to pick a path by screen: capture, edit, translate, organize, or manage account work.
Choose a workflow and workspace
Workspaces decide which capture buttons, document tabs, and next actions appear. Use the workspace that matches the output you need, not only the source file you have.

Read transcripts and edit documents
Every saved item opens in an editor where source audio, transcript, and created documents stay together. You can switch document tabs, edit text, rename the item, and keep or discard changes.

Translate and use live language tools
Translation tools are available for saved audio, saved text, live captions, and live conversations where each participant may need a different language.

Offline recording and local translation
When the connection drops, voice recordings can be saved securely in this browser and upload automatically when internet returns. Recently opened notes may remain readable from browser cache, and Offline Translator can run local browser models after setup on accounts that have access.

Settings, data, and support
Settings holds account preferences, privacy controls, language choices, recording defaults, categories, and data-rights requests. Support starts from Contact when a workflow still fails.

Search the docs
Jump to common jobs: record, upload, translate, work offline, organize, pay, protect, or troubleshoot.
Choose the right starting point
Most Sondeas work begins by choosing what you want to create. The workflow sets the first screen, suggested actions, and document tabs you see after the source material is saved.
| If you want to | Who can do it | Start here | You can create |
|---|---|---|---|
| Record a meeting or call | Signed-in users with workspace access. | Meetings workspace, then Record meeting or Upload meeting recording. | Transcript, speaker labels when enabled, summary, decisions, and action items. |
| Clean up a voice note | Signed-in users with workspace access. | Voice Notes workspace, then Record memo or Upload voice note. | Clean notes, a short summary, or a message draft you can edit before sending. |
| Work through an interview, lecture, or research file | Signed-in users with workspace access. | Research workspace, then Upload interview or Record interview. | Transcript, summary, themes, quote lists, and source-linked notes. |
| Translate audio or a saved document | Signed-in users with workspace access. | Translate workspace for files, or the Translate action inside a saved item. | Original transcript, translated document, and spoken translation when the item has translated text. |
| Keep working with weak or no connection | Signed-in users; Offline Translator appears only when your account has translator access. | Use supported note or recording paths for queued sync, or open Offline Translator and download browser models first. | Queued notes and recordings sync later; local translation can transcribe or translate on device after setup. |
| Create narration from text | Signed-in users with workspace access. | Voiceover workspace, then Start voiceover script. | Script document, selectable narration voice, playable audio, and downloadable audio file. |
| Dictate a rough draft | Signed-in users with workspace access. | Writers workspace, then Dictate draft or Upload spoken draft. | Cleaned draft, message version, script version, and editable source transcript. |

Get started and account access
Start from the public pages if you are comparing Sondeas. After sign-in, onboarding and access checks send you to the right workspace, billing path, or privacy unlock screen.
First session
- 1Create an account from Sign up, Trial, Pricing, or Credits when you are ready to save work.
- 2Finish onboarding so Sondeas can choose a useful default workspace and home view.
- 3Open Overview to continue recent work, start a workspace, or launch live tools.
- 4If the app asks for a privacy passphrase, unlock it before opening encrypted notes or audio.
Access rules
- Visitors can read docs, guides, pricing, security, legal pages, and public tools.
- Signed-in users can use app pages after plan, trial, credits, or admin access is available.
- Live translator and captioning screens may require feature access in addition to sign-in.
- Admin screens are operational tools and are not part of customer help flows.
Capture audio
Use recording when the source is happening now: a call, an in-person conversation, a spoken draft, or a quick idea. Recording can start from a workspace, from the floating recorder, or from the shortcut extension.
Basic recording path
- 1Open the workspace that matches the job: Meetings, Voice Notes, Research, Translate, Writers, or General.
- 2Choose the microphone and source language before you speak when you already know them.
- 3Start recording, pause when needed, resume, cancel, or submit the capture.
- 4Open the saved item to read the transcript and choose the next action.
Recording controls
- Workspace recorder keeps the capture tied to the current folder and workflow.
- Floating recorder lets you move around the app while the capture continues.
- Shortcut extension can start or stop recording without first returning to the Sondeas tab.
Upload and import existing audio
Use upload when you already have a file from a phone recorder, meeting platform, messaging app, interview recorder, or video export.
Upload methods
- Drag a file into the app drop zone, choose a file with the picker, or share audio from your device into Sondeas.
- Pick the destination workspace before upload so the item opens with the right document tabs and actions.
- Common audio and video exports work, including AAC, FLAC, M4A, MP3, MP4, MPEG, MPGA, OGA, OGG, OPUS, WAV, and WebM.
After upload
- The saved item keeps the original source attached, so you can return to the audio from the editor.
- If you know the source language, choose it before processing to improve the first transcript.
- If a file fails, export it from the source app as MP3, M4A, WAV, MP4, or WebM and upload again.
Read transcripts and edit documents
Every saved item opens in an editor where source audio, transcript, and created documents stay together. You can switch document tabs, edit text, rename the item, and keep or discard changes.
Transcript views
- Plain transcript gives a clean reading view for quick copying and editing.
- Segment view helps with interviews, research, and translation because each part stays separated.
- Speaker labels appear for workflows where multiple voices matter, such as meetings and interviews.
Document tabs
- A meeting can include Transcript, Summary, and Action items.
- Voice notes can become Notes, Summary, or Message.
- Research items can include Transcript, Summary, Themes, and Quotes.
- Translation and voiceover items can include Translation, Script, and audio playback.
Organize workspaces and library items
Sondeas keeps saved work in workspaces that match the job, while the General workspace and library views let you browse everything together.
Ways to find saved work
- Use the workspace folder tree when the item belongs to a project, client, topic, meeting series, or research folder.
- Use feed view for recent work, table view for sorting and columns, and audio view when you need the source files.
- Search, filter by workflow, filter by category, refresh the list, and choose which columns are visible.
Item management
- Rename items so the library title matches the real subject instead of the capture time.
- Move items into folders, add categories, archive finished work, restore archived work, or delete items you no longer need.
- Breadcrumbs and source links help you return from an editor to the folder, workspace, or original audio behind the item.
Choose a workflow and workspace
Workspaces decide which capture buttons, document tabs, and next actions appear. Use the workspace that matches the output you need, not only the source file you have.
Where to start
- Overview is the launchpad for recent work, visible workspaces, and live tools.
- Meetings is best for calls, recurring sessions, decisions, summaries, and action items.
- General is best for flexible folders, typed notes, mixed sources, and project organization.
- Voiceover is best when you already have text and need generated speech.
Why workflows matter
- The workflow controls default prompts so summaries, messages, scripts, and action items use the right shape.
- The selected workspace keeps new files in the right folder tree and library filters.
- You can still move, rename, categorize, archive, or delete items later from the library.
- If unsure, start in General or Library; you can run document actions after the item exists.
Use document actions
Actions change by workflow so the editor offers useful next steps instead of a generic menu. Run an action, check the created document, then edit the result before you copy or share it.
Actions by workflow
- Meetings: Build summary, Extract action items, and View transcript.
- Voice Notes: Clean up, Summary, and Message.
- Research: Summary, Themes, Quotes, and Transcript.
- Writers: Clean up, To message, and To script.
- Translate and Voiceover: switch between source text, translated text, script, and audio creation actions.
Editing controls
- Copy text from the active document, edit the body directly, then save or discard your changes.
- Use version history when you need to compare earlier text with the current document.
- If an action result is close but not final, edit it in place or run another action from the best source document.
Translate and use live language tools
Translation tools are available for saved audio, saved text, live captions, and live conversations where each participant may need a different language.
Saved translation
- Upload audio in the Translate workspace to get both the original transcript and translated document.
- Open any saved item and run Translate when you want a new language version of the active document.
- Use Generate spoken translation when translated text should become playable audio.
Live language work
- Live captions show speech as text while the speaker continues talking.
- Conversation rooms let people join by invite link or QR code, then choose language settings per participant.
- Translated turns remain in the room feed so listeners can read the conversation after the speaker finishes.
Offline recording and local translation
When the connection drops, voice recordings can be saved securely in this browser and upload automatically when internet returns. Recently opened notes may remain readable from browser cache, and Offline Translator can run local browser models after setup on accounts that have access.
What keeps working
- Recently opened notes can stay readable from the browser cache while you are offline.
- Draft note text is kept in the current browser session so a reload does not discard active typing.
- Offline Translator can keep local translation available after setup on supported accounts and browsers.
- Recordings saved offline stay in an encrypted, account-scoped queue and sync from this browser when internet returns.
What still needs internet
- Saving text notes, processing queued recordings, cloud transcription, AI summaries, rewrites, cloud translation, text-to-speech, billing, and account changes need a server connection.
- Large uploads must finish sending before Sondeas can process, translate, rewrite, or create speech from the file.
- Sign-in, first device unlock, payments, support contact, and model downloads need internet access.
- Do not clear browser storage or use private browsing for work you still need to sync.
Offline Translator path
- 1Open Offline Translator only if it appears in your workspace or live tools.
- 2While online, choose Download browser models and wait until Whisper and any supported speech model are ready.
- 3Pick microphone and speaker languages, then record each turn for local transcription or translation.
- 4Use cloud translation paths when you need broader target-language coverage than the local models provide.
Create speech and voiceover audio
Voiceover starts from text rather than speech. Use it when you already have a script, translated text, training note, explainer, or message that should become audio.
Voiceover path
- 1Open Voiceover and choose Start voiceover script.
- 2Paste or write the script, then save it as the active document.
- 3Choose a narration voice. Built-in choices include Alloy, Ash, Ballad, Coral, Echo, Fable, Nova, Onyx, Sage, Shimmer, Verse, Marin, and Cedar.
- 4Run Generate audio, listen in the player, adjust playback speed, then download or keep the audio with the item.
Common uses
- Turn translated text into spoken audio after an audio translation workflow.
- Create narration for training notes, scripts, product walkthroughs, or message drafts.
- Regenerate audio after editing the script when the wording changes.
Billing, credits, and usage
Sondeas uses credits for premium processing such as transcription, translation, rewriting, and text-to-speech. Billing screens explain balance, history, and checkout before you buy more.
Where to manage billing
- Pricing explains public plans, credit packages, and checkout options before sign-in.
- Credits lets visitors or users start a top-up or return to sign-in.
- Billing shows balance, usage summaries, payment history, transactions, and top-up actions.
- Transactions is the audit view for credit additions and usage deductions.
How credits are used
- Recording and upload flows may estimate or consume credits when audio is processed.
- AI document actions can require credits when generating summaries, rewrites, or extracted tasks.
- Translation and text-to-speech use credits based on source size and generated output.
- If balance is low, top up before starting a long file or multi-step workflow.
Settings, data, and support
Settings holds account preferences, privacy controls, language choices, recording defaults, categories, and data-rights requests. Support starts from Contact when a workflow still fails.
Personal settings
- Set preferred home view so sign-in opens the page you use most.
- Choose app language, appearance, notifications, playback speed, and auto-copy behavior.
- Set recording defaults such as source language, provider choices if available, and shortcut behavior.
- Create note categories so library filters and item tags match your real work.
Data and support
- Use profile settings to update your name, avatar preview, and account identity details.
- Use security settings to change password when the account uses email and password sign-in.
- Request data export or deletion from the account area when you need a data-rights process.
- Contact support with the workflow, file type, browser, and error state when troubleshooting does not fix it.
Troubleshooting common workflow issues
Most issues can be narrowed down by checking the input file, microphone permission, source language, and the document you used as the action source.
Checks to try first
- If microphone recording does not start, allow microphone access in the browser and confirm the selected input device.
- If the first transcript looks wrong, choose the source language manually and process the source again when retry is available.
- If a translation is poor, fix obvious transcript errors first, then translate from the corrected document.
- If an upload fails, export from the source app to a common audio or video file and upload the new file.
