Save your recovery key
If you forget your passphrase, the recovery key is the only way back into locked notes.
We show it once. Store it somewhere safe, away from the device you use Sondeas on. We can't show it again or reset it.
Save it
Step 1: When you turn on the passphrase, Sondeas shows your recovery key.
Step 2: Copy it and keep it somewhere safe, such as a password manager or a printed copy stored away from this device.
Step 3: Choose I've stored it.
Make a new one
Step 1: Open Settings, then Privacy & security.
Step 2: Under Recovery key, choose New recovery key and confirm with your passphrase.
Step 3: Store the new key. The old one stops working right away.
Not sure you have one?
- Privacy & security shows when your key was saved, or that there isn't one yet.
- Without a key, a forgotten passphrase means locked notes stay locked.
